With your support, disadvantaged youth can be inspired to achieve their musical dreams. Through supporting Youth Workers at Future, youth can learn instruments, have their confidence boosted and learn about different musical careers.
Our Youth Workers are not only passionate about helping youth reach their potential, they are highly skilled and talented musicians and technicians.
Your support also helps keeps the doors open to our state of the art facilities – we believe that to get the best from youth we must give them the best. Our music offer includes drums, guitars and keyboards, as well as a music production studio to record and edit their own tracks.
From supporting the stadium stars of the future, to those looking for somewhere safe and inspiring to spend their leisure time, your support can change young lives.
Youth can join open sessions to make new friends, or book one-to-one time with a Youth Worker to create their track or practise for gigs.
Most youth we support live in an area of high deprivation, so would otherwise miss out on the life enhancing benefits of music.
Shahid's story
“Thanks to Future I have been able to get different opportunities such as performing at events. Through music mentoring I’ve been able to gain more experience on stage. In July I performed with other young people from Future and gained confidence in performing for different crowds because I had to work with a different sound and a live band.
I want to take things further with music and know working well with others is important, and thanks to the Youth Workers I have overcome the difficulty of learning how to handle different.”
Katie's story
“I used to be someone who would never go out of the house. All I would do is game, watch tv and focus on music. I never had many friends and had no confidence.
“My mum signed me up for the Youth Zone. I got introduced to other people and they were very friendly and this made me want to go more often.
“What helped me boost it up was the staff members. They helped me to be the best that I could be and now I can even perform in front of large crowds. Music has always been a passion for me and Future is a place where I can always express myself.
“I was the person who would never go out the house and now I never shut up!”
