Last month our juniors performed their second showcase in front of a live audience packed with supportive parents, fellow young people, and proud staff. It was a great turnout, and the group gave everyone a show to remember.
The group worked tirelessly over five months to put this showcase together. Rehearsals, run-throughs, small adjustments week after week, all building toward one performance.
The show itself brought together singing, acting, and dancing, woven into a mix of current and old school R&B hits. It was a real showcase of the different skills the young people have been developing at Future Youth Zone.
Anyone who saw the first showcase could tell how far the girls have come. Dance youth worker Bernice summed it up well:
“The girls worked really hard and have improved so much since their last showcase. I’m so proud of them.”
It’s the kind of progress that comes from consistent effort, and it showed on the night.
